- deed restrictionsPosted on: 2011-04-21I notice that a large number of homes now have sheds in the back yard (when i look out my back door, i can only see one other yard w/o some sort of garden shed.
Section 12 of the deed restriction document prohibits the building of structures such as these. Personally I find the restriction ridiculous, especially considering that the developers offered so few options for rear-of-house storage, or through-garage access to the back yard. As a resident, I cannot house both my yard equipment and my cars in the garage where storage space is already limited (thanks for no attic access btw). Has there been a provision provided since the drafting of the covenants and restrictions? If not, would anyone be interested in signing a petition to have section 12 waived in the case of shed structures? - 2012 Southbrook YardsalePosted on: 2012-01-11Does anyone know date the 2012 Southbrook yardsale is planned for? If not, who is the contact person for this event? Our family is hoping to participate as a seller for the first time this year.

I work with landscape architects who did the plan for me. It calls for 3 blue spruce trees behind the sign, but the money was not there for them. Thank you. Your fellow Southbrook neighbors, Mr and Mrs Dana S Marsee.=

Dear City Commission,
I am a resident of Southbrook subdivision. Our neighborhood is growing quickly. I, as well as many others in our neighborhood, am very concerned about the children and adults who venture out on bicycles or on foot to the Kroger shopping center. As gas prices rise this problem is going to increase.
I read a previous statement, from City Commisssioner Goldey, about why the city could not put a sidewalk along the highway. I was wondering why Wilmore had paths of blacktop for walkways along their highway.
The main problem for the people who are traveling on foot or bicycle is the one section of the road that has NO shoulder and is very dangerous. If a path could be cleared in that area as well as other spots along the way it would be safe to travel. The spot I am referring to is a steep hill where there is no shoulder on the road but there are two tree stumps that could be cleared to make a path to walk on. I do not feel the city would need any special permission to clean up that area.
Last year the road was very frequently traveled by bicyclers who were hard to see. With gas prices rising I know this year there will be even more pedestrians in harms way. Please do something about this situation for the protection of our citizens here in my hometown of Nicholasville.
Thank you.
Mrs. Eva Johns Marsee

- Possible Identity thievesPosted on: 2010-09-23Last night around 10:15 there was an older white Jeep Cherokee, one head light, one tail light, no light on the license plate. Male driver with 2 females. They were driving around our neighborhood since it was trash night going thru people's trash. I'm thinking looking for ways to steal some identity. I drove around trying to find them but found out they had left, heading towards N'ville. I called the cops and let them know. So people, next Wednesday night be on the look-out for these jokers again. And watch out what u put in ur trash.
